Meridian for iPhone

Your mirror, on the phone in your pocket.

The iPhone app reads Apple Health directly, so an Apple Watch, a Garmin, a Coros or an Amazfit reaches Meridian without a shortcut or a code to paste. It installs through TestFlight, Apple's app for beta software. Setup is one sign-in and two permissions.

Before you install

The account comes first, the app second.

Meridian is a closed beta. The app signs you in against a Meridian account, and accounts are created by invitation only. Installing first and signing in second is the wrong order: without an invitation, the app opens on a private-beta screen and there is nothing behind it yet.

You have an invitation

You received an email from Meridian with a guide attached. That is your invitation, and the address it was sent to is the address you sign in with. Carry on below.

You do not have one yet

Ask for a place on the list and we will write to you when the next wave opens. Join the waiting list, or look around the demo in the meantime.

Three steps

Install, sign in, allow two things.

Do this on the iPhone itself, not on a computer. The whole thing takes a few minutes, and once it is done your days arrive on their own.

  1. Install the app through TestFlight

Open the link below on your iPhone. If you do not have TestFlight yet, the page walks you through installing it first, then offers Meridian. TestFlight is made by Apple and is how beta apps are distributed before they reach the App Store.

Requires iPhone on iOS 16 or later. The web app works everywhere and holds the same data; the iPhone app is what reads Apple Health.

  2. Sign in with the address your invitation went to

Enter that email and tap Send sign-in link. The email that arrives carries both a link and an 8-digit code, and either one gets you in. If you set up Sign in with Apple on the web, that works here too, as long as it is the same address.

A different address will not work. There is no sign-up inside the app, so an unrecognised email lands on the private-beta screen rather than creating an account.

  3. Allow Health access, and the daily reminder

The first-run questions offer Health access the moment you name your device. When iOS puts up its own Health sheet, use Turn On All, or tick every row by hand. Partial access is the most common cause of a mirror with holes in it: a night Meridian cannot read is a night that never happened.

Then Profile, Daily reminder turns on the check-in reminder. It is one notification, at the hour you pick, and only on a day you have not checked in yet. Nothing else ever notifies you.

Missed either screen? Nothing is lost. Profile, Data sources, Apple Health, Connect does the same thing at any time.

Worth knowing

What the app needs, and what it does not.

This is an experimental beta, provided as is. Meridian reflects your own data back to you. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose, and it is not a substitute for professional care.
